Isaw on Instagram the other day that a company called Duck Camp that “makes premium outdoor goods” was having a Crawfish Derby. I don’t know what that is but it sounds fun. There is going to be food, music and swag.

School year winding down

O ur 2022-23 school year is about to be over! Seniors are leaving for senior trip on Mother’s Day! Senior Academic Banquet is May 22 and Graduation is May 26. Start making plans to congratulate all of our seniors. Pray for them and their parents as they begin the next phase of their lives.

The Rockdale Homecoming Association annual citywide homecoming will be Sunday, June 11, at the Patterson Civic Center. Rockdale High School Class of 1973 will be the honored class of 50 years. The Honored Business for 2023 is McVoy Grocery & Feed Store.

Appelt Family Reunion to be held June 4th The Appelt Family will be celebrating its 59th reunion on Sunday, June 4, at Appelt’s Hill Hall in Hallettsville. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. and lunch of stew, sausage and assorted side dishes will be served at noon.

Rockdale Police Officers made one felony arrest during the past seven days: • Colby Mueller-Langley, 22, Bryan, was arrested on a Burnet County warrant for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a Brazos County warrant for evading arrest detention with vehicle.
