VFW’s annual school supply drive begins

The annual VFW Auxiliary Post 6525 school supplies drive is going on and they are accepting donations. You can donate money and they will shop for the supplies or you can take the supplies to the VFW Hall. Checks may be made out to VFW Auxi l iary 6525, P.O. Box 186, in Rockdale.

MCT calls for actors to audition for ‘Baskerville’

American playwright Ken Ludwig has been called a comic genius and this summer Milam Community Theater will stage “Baskerville,” his madcap sendup of Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes classic. “This play is a true romp,” said director Richard Stone.

This week in Commissioners Court we passed a proclamation making May 21-26 Search and Rescue Week here in Milam County. During my 14 years in the Navy, Search and Rescue was a significant part of what I did as a Naval Aircrewman.

Cowboy Church VBS to be held June 6-9 Milam County Cowboy Church will hold Vacation Bible School June 6-9 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme will be “The Armor of God.” Bible school is free and includes dinner each night and a T-shirt. Register by May 21 at milamcountycowboychurch. org.
