GRAND OPENING

GO Car Wash, located at 681 W. US 79 in front of Walmart, is scheduled to hold their grand opening on Thursday, Jan. 5. They will be giving out free car washes from that day until Jan. 9. They will be selling monthly passes for $9.99 for the first month.

CITRUS SHOW

Milam County 4-H won big at the Citrus Show held on Dec. 17 in Mercedes in the Rio Grande Valley. Kaylor Eschberger won first place individual in the intermediate category. His brother Klay Eschberger took home third place. Kaylor is shown here being awarded his prize.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • North FM 486 and CR 412 for a two-vehicle accident with injuries on Wednesday along with AMR and the Milam County Sheriff’s Office.   • 513 Murray for a power pole sparking and power outage on Wednesday along with Oncor.

Three felony arrests made by Rockdale PD

Rockdale Police Officers made three felony arrests during the past week including: • Christopher Andrew Lopez, 27, Rockdale, was arrested on Wednesday by Ofc. Lentz on a warrant for possession of controlled substance (less than 1 gram).

Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the county jail in Cameron. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

Industrial property sale closed on Friday

At the last city council meeting several finishing touches were approved for the sale of the former industrial property on FM 487 to Cornerstone Development, including a financing agreement, a dissolution agreement and a settlement statement.
