Milano Christmas parade a huge success

The Christmas parade in Milano was a huge success! We had three trains this year, which I don’t think has ever happened before. BREAK— Reminder that school gets out for the Christmas break at 12:30 p.m. Dec. 22. Students will not return until Jan. 10.

Seafood for Christmas dinner

What are you going to eat for Christmas? We only eat turkey once a year, so we definitely won’t be having that. I’d be happy with a ham, but we normally have beef. We usually have a rib roast, but they have gotten so expensive. One year Dad grilled ribeyes, and that was a nice dinner for Christmas.

RISD board recognizes UIL students

At Monday’s RISD board meeting and luncheon, elementary, intermediate and junior high students were recognized for placing in Academic UIL competitions. Student athlete, Jesus Bocanegra, was recognized for placing 2nd at District, 7th at Regional and was a State Qualifier in Cross Country.

Health department hosts Indonesian health delegation

On Dec. 12, Rober t Kirkpatrick of the Milam County Health Department hosted a five-member health delegation from Indonesia for a one-and-ahalf- hour presentation on rural public health.
