Master Gardeners plan 2023 class

The Little River Basin Master Gardener Association of Milam County is opening registration for the 2023 Master Gardener class. Classes will meet on Wednesday mornings beginning Feb. 1 through mid-May in Cameron. The program offers a minimum of 50 hours of instruction, including field trips.

Senior Center seeking gifts, donations for Angel Tree

The Rockdale Senior Center is having their annual Angel Tree this year for Christmas. Director Carolyn Cooper said, “We do not have a tree displayed this year but you can stop by and take a name from our list.

Water Use Restriction

During the next eight weeks, the City of Rockdale will be taking the Mill St Ground Storage Tank, the Mill St Elevated Tower and the Mill St Water Treatment Plant offline for badly needed maintenance and repair.

‘It won’t be pretty’

As most Rockdalians know, the decision to fix the city’s water issues was approved by the city council last year. This is an enormous undertaking, and the project was kicked down the road by several past city councils, but it is now going to be done.
