Towards the end of last month, I had a chance to visit Mexico for the first time in my life. The plan was to hang out in Mexico City before lying on the beach for the rest of my trip in Oaxaca, near Puerto Escondido.

Early fall opening eyed for ‘The Snug’

It’s been a whirlwind of activity for Rockdale’s Jacobi Mullen. First she got engaged to Joshua Boykin, then she got married at a destination wedding in Las Vegas, so she’s now Jacobi Mullen Boykin. Now she’s back and working on her downtown business called The Snug at 121 E. Cameron Ave.

Rotary adult scholarships available, applications due July 31

Rockdale Rotary Club will be awarding two $1,000 scholarships to adults wishing to further their education. Applicants must have graduated high school or received a GED prior to 2022.

Milam, Burleson groundwater summit set Aug. 18

The date for the 2022 Milam and Burleson Counties Groundwater Summit has been set for August 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All are encouraged to attend. The summit is free and open to the public with lunch provided. Topics for this year’s summit cover a variety of issues.
