Rockdale’s January tax returns from the state’s comptroller’s office to an early slide with receipts down by almost half a cent from the December 2020 numbers which were reported in January of this year.

The Milam County 4-H County Council Officer team works throughout the year to put on countless events and help wherever needed. This year, the team’s activities have been limited but they are still working hard to make sure 4-H stays fun and exciting, and a great life experience for 4-H members.

Milam grand jury true-bill, no-bill cases in February

The following 57 cases were presented to the grand jury and indicted as true bills with one “no bill” on Feb. 24: • Ruben Gonzales, 49, Rockdale, state jail felony, possession of controlled substance less than one gram.

Wearing mask, other cautions, encouraged to continue

On Tuesday Gov. Greg Abbott lifted the mask mandate and opened business up 100% as of March 10.  People are still, however, encouraged to wear masks by some leaders and medical experts.
