RHS students graduate from Temple College

Rockdale ISD had 11 students (nine seniors and two juniors) graduate with their associate’s degrees from Temple College on Saturday, May 10. Rockdale ISD currently has nearly 100 students enrolled in dual credit through Temple College.

Movie series starts Saturday

Rockdale Chamber of Commerce, the Kay Theater and Rockdale Rotary Club have teamed up for a summer movies series to be presented at Wolf Park on the third Saturday of the month in May, June and July beginning at 8 p.m. The movies are Shrek on May 17, The Goonies on June 21 and Toy Story on July 19.

Genealogical society meeting set for May 27th

Milam County Genealogical Society will hold its May meeting on Tuesday, May 27, at 2 p.m. in the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library in Rockdale. The speaker for the program will be Claude Vaughn who will be sharing information about his ancestors. Guests are always welcome.

Tornado causes minor damage near Cameron

The May 6 storm brought fierce rain into the county, flooding county roads, and it dropped a tornado on the east side of the US 77 Long Bridge near Cameron. The National Weather Service surveyed the damage the next morning.

Rockdale police make four felony arrests, report two accidents

Rockdale Police Officers made four felony arrests dur ing the past week including: • Brandon Cornwell, 41, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc. Lentz for two counts of possession of a controlled substance (1 to 4 grams) and for tamper/ fabricate physical evidence with intent to impair.
