Riggs named new librarian

The City of Rockdale is excited to welcome Lisa Riggs as the new Library Director of the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library. Her first day on the job in Rockdale was April 14.

QUICK LOOK

Matinee Musical Club, Rockdale’s oldest organization, will host First Friday Coffee this Friday, May 2, at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library. Come and meet Lisa Riggs, the city’s new librarian. The coffee runs from 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and all are invited.

ORGANIZATIONS

The American Legion Post 358meets the first Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Legion Hall. New members are welcome. For more information call Rod at 512-429-3458. Milam County Ham Radio Club meeting Milam County Radio Club meets the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

REUNIONS

Appelt reunion set for June 1 in Hallettsville The Appelt Fami ly Reunion will be held Sunday, June 1, at Appelt’s Hill Hall in Hallettsville. Registration begins at 10 a.m. with lunch at 12-noon. Stew, sausage, side dishes and drinks will be provided.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • US 79 in front of O'Reilly's Auto Parts in reference to a two-vehicle accident on April 24 at 12:20 p.m. • US 77 hear the Milam County Cowboy Church for a semi-truck possibly on fire on April 25 at 9:50 a.m.
