The Rockdale ISD Education Foundation raised nearly $25,000 and passed it out to teachers on Thursday as 11 of the 22 grant applications they received were funded at all grade levels.

Rockdale City Council swore in two council members at Monday night’s meeting. New council member Daniel Willie was sworn in to his west side seat and Esmeralda Ruelas-Olivares was sworn in to her second three-year term. Mayor Ward Roddam was ill on Monday so he will be sworn in at the June meeting.
