40 YEARS AGO… A Rockdale man, making a qualifying flight in a glider, crashed at the Rockdale Country Club Sunday afternoon. Bryan Andrew Bird, 27, was trying to land on the practice fairway when his glider hit a power line, causing his plane to nosedive on to the golf course.
