Peg and I were reminiscing about Christmases past the other night. The youngest of our four had his 40th birthday last May, so these memories go back for decades. Kathy was 4 years old when Kyle was born. Kyle was 3 when Ken was born, and Ken was only 15 months old when Kevin made his appearance.

Merr y Christmas or Happy Holidays if you are angry. Maybe it’s vice versa. I’m not sure anymore. Either way we are all celebrating the birth of Jesus regardless of how we feel about Jesus. I hope that makes sense.

Looking back...

100 YEARS AGO… Rockdale decided to enter the Brazos River Reclamation Association. The decision was reached at a meeting in the Chamber of Commerce rooms, which was attend by about 50 citizens of Rockdale, Cameron, Gause, San Gabriel and Tracy. Mr. B. Ashby, manager of the Rockdale Motor Car Co.

The Milam County Sheriff’s Office awarded many in the department Milam County Sheriff’s Office celebrated our outstanding employees over the last two days at our annual Christmas parties that also served as our awards banquets.
