I don’t remember a time when there wasn’t the Parsley family in my life. We lost a good man in Harold last week. He was the boss of many of my friends who worked at Parsley’s Pullet Parlor.

Veterans Services’ Ken Janicek retiring

One of the many great things Milam County provides is a Veterans Service Department. Veterans Services provides just about all things veteran to the almost 1,500 veterans in Milam County. Mr. Ken Janicek has been in charge of this department for almost 24 years and has done such a marvelous job!

100 YEARS AGO… The biggest deal yet recorded in the Rockdale oil field was finally closed when Dr. T.D. Roundtree leased to the Tidal Oil Company of Tulsa, OK, 260 acres off of his 535- acre farm, the consideration being $240 per acre, or a total of $62,400. W.E.
