We all know what the major story was this year: The COVID-19 Pandemic. But let’s take a look back and see what other things happened in Rockdale over the past year.
In January, Whinstone was poised to make Rockdale the largest facilities of its kind in the world and was already hiring.
After washing your hands if you flick your wet fingers into the sink 13 times you will only need one paper towel to totally dry your hands no matter how flimsy the paper.
The meme game was strong on social media. There were so many things to poke fun at over the past year.

100 YEARS AGO...
Rev. W.A. Posey, evangelist of San Antonio, was to begin a series of co-operative meetings at the Presbyterian church in Rockdale. Members of other denominations agreed to join in and help make the meeting a success.
New Year, new you. Probably not. Let’s be real: you are not going to change much in the next year. I know this because I’m ordained, God likes me a lot and I’m still the same old person I was last year at this time.
We always have prime rib for Christmas and that’s no different this year. We have used many recipes over the years. I think we used Paula Deen’s recipe the first year and it was delicious.
There is a very special lady in town who likes to bring The Reporter gang food throughout the year. We trade her old newspapers. I don’t know what she does with them.
The food is always appreciated and always delicious.
The past ten months have been some of the most trying times in our county. The year started with high hopes of more economic development and growth. But, all of a sudden we were in the mist of a pandemic and everything changed.
