What are you looking forward to doing the most? What have you not been able to do that you really miss because of the stay-athome order? I’d have to say eating out in restaurants is my number one. I know we can still order, and I do order, but it’s not the same.

Changes to state, county shelter-in-place order

This week Governor Abbott announced several changes to his executive orders. These changes now allow for our restaurants to open and serve the public, with no more than 25% capacity. Our libraries can open under limited circumstances and doctors, nurses and sole practitioners can return to work.

First COVID-19 death in Milam County

On Monday we learned of our first COVID-19 death in Milam County. This was a Milam County resident under the age of 50. This case was not related to any of the Cameron Dairy Queen cases. The person had been transported to a Temple hospital late last week and then succumbed to the virus on Monday.

100 YEARS AGO.... Gay Hill rancher Calvin Eiland was acquitted on a charge of failing to dip his cattle as per county order. Justice of the Peace Ed Gunn said 500 persons attended the trial, the largest trial crowd in his memory. Eight more cases were scheduled for trial. Sullivan Turner Jr.

Breakfast casserole and other goodies

Your little students need a good breakfast before going off to sch… the living room coffee table, so this week I have another good breakfast casserole. And it’s a magic breakfast casserole because it has eggs in it and even I can eat it.

Weird times we’re in

The Blonde and I have been going to Walmart early on Friday mornings to shop together. I’ll admit I’m spoiled since Jennifer does all the shopping and I go to the store about three times a year whether I need to or not.
