Saturday night Rockdale Earth Day celebrated International Day of Peace at Wolf Park with about 100 people in attendance.

MDD taps feasibility study for hotels

At Monday night’s Rockdale Municipal Development District (RMDD) board meeting Economic Director Jim Gibson let the board know that a national hotel chain, Cobblestone Hotels, had requested information about coming to Rockdale.

FUNDRAISER

The Ranch and Friends of MARC sponsored a concert featuring Milam County’s own Brooke Graham on Saturday night raising over $16,000 which will go toward the purchase of a new 12-passenger van for the center.

Rockdale Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony (above) for the opening of Maricela’s Bar & Grill (formerly Gonzales Mexican Bar & Grill) located at 1525 W. Cameron Ave. The restaurant boasts a huge dining area, a covered patio, a party room and full bar.

Two felony arrests made by Rockdale PD, three accidents listed

Rockdale Police Officers made two felony arrests during the past week including: • Jeremy Todd Brown, 43, Bastrop, was arrested by Ofc. Lentz for possession of a controlled substance (under 1 gram), driving with license invalid and unlawful carrying of a weapon.
