Rockdale PD reports two felony arrests, three traffic accidents

Rockdale Police Officers made two felony arrests during the past week including: • Jesus Chavira Lopez, 27, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc. Lent for injury to a child/reckless serious bodily injury. • A 13-year-old juvenile, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc.

HAPPY VENDORS

The first of Rockdale’s Community Market went off without a hitch and both vendors and customers had a great day. The market will be at the same location, Cardinal Roofing, 1613 West Cameron Avenue, every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.

Early voting starts for city, school board races

Early voting starts on Monday, April 22 for the May 4 city council and school board elections with three contested races.

Chamber banquet Thursday

The annual Rockdale Chamber of Commerce Banquet will be held next Thursday, April 25, at the New Salem building at Fair Park. Happy hour starts at 6 p.m. and the banquet begins at 6:30 p.m.

Stash Your Trash event on Saturday

The City of Rockdale will hold its Stash Your Trash event on Saturday at Fair Park from 8 a.m. to 12-noon or until the bins are full. This event is for city residents only, who will need a driver’s license and water bill to verify they live in the city limits.
