SLR plans 1,200-mw gas plant

Sandow Lakes Energy Co. LLC a nnounced its plans to pursue the construction of a 1,200-megawatt, ultra-efficient, natural gas-fueled power plant. The plant, located on Sandow Lakes property in Lee County, will be developed and owned by a Sandow Lakes Energy Co.

St. John’s United Methodist Church will hold their annual chili supper on Thursday, Feb. 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Tickets are $13 and are available at the door and includes chili, cornbread, dessert of your choice and a drink and can be taken home or eaten there.

A full meal in three recipes

Rockdale Rotary Club meets the first, third and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch is provided. Rockdale Noon Lions Club also meets at RVFD on the f irst and third Wednesday of each month with lunch provided.

Rockdale Police Officers made one felony arrest during the past week: • Walter Taylor Gross Jr., 54, Rockdale, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance (less than 1 gram) and criminal trespass.
