Third murder suspect arrested; Coufal indicted by grand jury for murder

The third suspect in the April 27 murder of Jeffrey McKinney was arrested at a home in Bellville on June 14. Isaac J. Carrizales was taken into custody by members of U.S. Marshall’s Violent Offenders Task Force and is currently in the Milam County Jail.

Westbrook speaks at groundwater summer business meeting

Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District (POSGCD) General Manager Gary Westbrook was a guest speaker at the Texas Alliance of Groundwater District summer business meeting.

CELEBRATION—Rockdale celebrated freedom on Saturday with a parade, barbecue and music at Sumuel Park. Hundreds of people enjoyed the holiday. Here are some scenes from the celebration.

Ribbon cutting

B&D Longarm Quilting held a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony at their new studio on Saturday. Shown at left are owners Bill and Diana Casario. The kickoff was also a celebration of the first beginners quilting class, who all completed their quilts.

School board hears recommendations

Rockdale ISD Chief Financial Officer Diedra Hall made recommendations to the school board trustees on approval and adoption of resolutions and agreements at the June 7 meeting.
