The Rockdale Rotary Club held its annual Casino Night on Saturday at The Ranch and had their best year ever according to Vice President and Treasurer Gaye Bland.

Rockdale VFD fundraiser tickets on sale February 14th

The Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual fundraiser at the KC Hall on April 23 from 5 p.m. to midnight. A meal will be served at 5:30 p.m. Ticket sales will begin on Feb. 14 and are $150 per couple.

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • Ackerman/Bell for traffic control for an accident on Tuesday. • US 79/CR 446 for a vehicle that slid off the roadway on Thursday. • Cameron Avenue/Parkway for a transformer that fell off a pole into the roadway on Saturday.

MILAM COUNTY JAIL LOG

Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the county jail in Cameron. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. • James Williams III, 62, Cameron, unauthorized use of motor vehicle, released on $2,500 bond.

Senior Center seeking volunteers, donations The Rockdale Senior Center is in need of volunteers on Mondays to deliver Meals on Wheels twice per month. They are also asking for donations for their Angel Tree and seeking people to adopt a senior or buy items from their wish list.

Here we are with a “cool” Monday morning and not much happening. We are having trouble with our central heat, it keeps throwing the breaker. It’s never just one problem at a time, always two or three. Oh well, it could be a lot worse. We are not covered with ice and were able to go outside.

Band spaghetti dinner a huge success on Monday

The RISD Band’s annual spaghetti supper fundraiser packed the Junior High Commons on Monday night. Through ticket sales, dessert sales, a silent auction and a senior cake auction the organization raised $6,527. In the top photo, diners are eating a delicious spaghetti dinner in a packed house.
