Free well testing underway for Milam, Burleson residents

Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District (POSGCD) has launched its 2026 Water Well Quality Testing Campaign for private well owners in Milam and Burleson Counties. This is the first year the District has offered a winter testing campaign.

A Century of Strength: Black families shaped Rockdale’s past, future

( The Rockdale Reporter’s popular and well-received 43-year Black History Series did not die when revered author Susie Sansom- Piper died in October 2019. Tamara Powell, Piper’s granddaughter, has agreed to write a series for the newspaper since her grandmother’s death.

Milano prom Saturday

Milano High School will be holding their junior/senior prom on Saturday, Jan. 31. I hope the weather will be nice for the evening. POWERLIFTING— Milano powerlifting students have been doing really well at recent competitions.

One felony arrest, three accidents during past week

Rockdale Police Officers made one felony arrest during the past week: • Niels Hunt Beery, 71, Rockdale, was arrested by Sgt. Richardson for burglary of a habitation. Accidents • Ofc. Rodriguez responded to Walmart parking lot for a hit and run accident on January 20 at 10:01 p.m.
