Hospital district’s tax rate to stay at 6.5 cents

The Rockdale Hospital District’s (RHD) tax rate will remain at 6.5 cents for another year. Karolyn Puccio, hospital board president, told The Reporter, that the board met on Friday and decided not to increase the tax rate.

CTFB visit set Thursday at KC Hall parking lot

The last Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) Mobile Food Pantry distribution of August in the KC Hall parking lot will be held on Thursday, according to Rockdale Christian Services Chair Pam Warren. Distributions are held the first and third Thursdays of each month. 9 to 11 a.m.

‘New’ drug turns up in Rockdale

Rockdale police had their first encounter with a new type of illegal substance during the past week. Lt. Stephen Goodrich of the Rockdale Police Department said a 30-year-old Rockdale woman was arrested before dawn Monday and charged with possession of a controlled substance (less than one gram).

MISD school year begins Thursday
