Judge recovering from health issue

District Judge John Youngblood is recovering from a recent health setback. Milam County Judge Steve Young announced during Commissioners Court Monday that the Youngblood family said he is making good progress and recovering.

Dana McClaren (right) is the newest board member of the Post Oak Savannah Groundwater Conservation District. She represents agriculture on the 10-member board, which includes Milam and Burleson County members. McClaren, a Milam County resident, replaces Durwood Tucker.

A 52-year-old Thorndale man was arrested last week by the Milam County Sheriff’s Department and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. Harlan Wayne Sekaquaptewa was released after posting $50,000 bond.

Troopers called to area accidents

Department of Public Safety state trooper were called to several traffic accidents on area roads during the past week. A two vehicle collision was reported at 8:37 p.m. April 22 on US 79 east of County Road 346.

Calvary Baptist Church on the Rock is holding in-person meetings again every Thursday at 7 p.m. The church is located at 1443 South FM 487. They are abiding by social distancing rules and have Plexiglass shields in place. Participants are asked to wear a mask.

Getting to a ‘new normal’?
