Windham named MVP at state

Rockdale native wins Defensive Most Valuable Player award ARLINGTON—On Wednesday, former Rockdale High School student Wyatt Windham earned the Defensive Most Valuable Player award after making 18 tackles to help his new school, Albany, take down Mart 41-21 in the Class 2A-II state championship game.

King, Crusaders fall in semis

Milano native Kyle King’s career with the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor came to an end as the Crusaders fell to North Central 49-14 in the Division III national semi-finals on Saturday in Naperville, Illinois.

Rockdale hires Hamrick

For Hunter Hamrick, a Bremond High School grad who went on to be an All-American punter at the University of Mary Hardin- Baylor, Central Texas feels like home. After being on the gulf coast for close to seven years, all he needed was a reason to come back.

Blue-and-Gold beat former Tigers in alumni soccer game, 2-1

On Friday, RHS soccer players of the past and the present met up at Tiger Stadium for the school’s second annual al alumni game, where the current Tigers came back to win, 2-1. The stars of yesterday took the lead early when Chris “Chino” Olvera scored within the first five minutes of play.
