Realignment: UIL pairs Rockdale with 2021 state champions Franklin, Lorena

On Thursday, it was announced that Rockdale High School will stay in District 11-3A-I with many of the same faces including Cameron, Academy, Lorena, McGregor and Troy but lose Caldwell, who moved back up to Class 4A-II and gained Franklin, who is back again after a two-year stint in Class 3A-II.

Lady Tigers blast Lexington 63-37 for sweep

Over the last week and a half, the Lady Tiger basketball team has been on a hot streak, earning three straight wins. Most recently, the Blue-and-Gold ld put a 63-37 beat down on Lexington at their home court on Saturday. Julie Bartsch led Rockdale with 27 points while Mijah Crawford scored 13.

RHS soccer teams fall short in La Vega Tiger soccer fell to Giddings 1-0 on Monday night. The Blue-and-Gold will face Caldwell at home on Saturday. Game time is 11 a.m. The Lady Tigers also lost to Giddings, falling 14-1.

MHS, THS hoops headed to playoffs

Lady Eagle and Lady Dog basketball ended their regular season with both squads headed to the post-season. Thorndale ended their district campaign on Tuesday evening with a 78-23 home win over Granger. Finishing with a record of 9-1, the Lady Dogs are tied for first with Hearne.

The Showdown in M-Town: Eagles 52, Bulldogs 47

In front of what was a packed house at the Geneva Paceley Gym, the Milano Eagles and Thorndale Bulldogs battled for the top spot in 27-2A. The game, which had 11 lead changes, came down to the final minute.
