Lady Commanches outshine THS, 44-34

Lady Bulldog basketball came to an end Friday afternoon when THS fell to an aggressive Shiner team 44-34 in Fayetteville. Shiner, who THS coach Bradley Dickerson said was an athletic team that could get to the basket, led right away and went into half time up 24-13.

As the match was tied at four, Rockdale’s fifth ever game against rival Cameron came down a sudden death kick, where each team had to select one player to attempt a goal to decide the victor. For RHS, coach Gilberto Rodriguez called on Tyler Thomas to knock in a goal, which he ended up doing.

Like the Lady Tigers, the Tigers were also without many of their starters when they fell to Caldwell 78-54 Friday. RHS had nine players suit up in the Blue-and-Gold including A.J Hicks, Aiden Hirt and Mason Willard, who were called up from the junior varsity for the game against the Hornets.

Milano came up short at Thrall Friday night, as the Lady Eagles lost their season finale to the Tigerettes 39-29. The Lady Eagles played THS close, but were unable to make up for a Thrall run early in the game. Natalie Compton had eight and Aaliyah McBrewer finished the game with six.
