The Milano Lady Eagles continue to blow up the scoreboards. Milano defeated Deweyville last week in the first round of the softball playoffs, winning game one by a score of 14-4 and game two 15-3.
This was the seventh win out of the last eight games for the Lady Eagles.
ACADEMIC ALL-STATE— Congratulations to Thorndale Lady Dogs basketball players Emily Northcott (L) and Lourdes Gonzales for being recognized to the Academic All-State Team by Texas Association of Basketball Coaches.
The Thorndale Lady Dogs won both of their games in the bi-district round of postseason play. The undefeated district champs beat Harper 8-2 and 11-10.
AREA— Thorndale is now scheduled to play Danbury in another best of three series starting with game one at 7 p.m. Thursday at Columbus High School.
Rockdale Tiger baseball ended on Friday night in front of Tiger Nation with a loss to Rogers, 9-0.
The Big Blue Machine played Rogers twice last week and lost both games. On Tuesday they lost on the road, 1-0.
This season was a disappointment after last year’s deep playoff run.

Rockdale Lady Tigers wrapped up their softball season last week with two losses against Thrall. The neighboring Tigers beat our Lady Tigers 10-0 and 13-8.
Rockdale finished the season without any district wins and only five wins the entire season.
The Milano Lady Eagles are positioned to go deep in their playoff run that starts at 6 p.m. Thursday against Deweyville at Klein Forest High School in Houston.
Milano finished 12-9-1 overall and 9-2 in district play, which allowed them to secure second place.
