Youth baseball opening day

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Thorndale Lady Dogs softball team got a big win over Bremond last week, 14-4. Karis Ginn and Aiyanna Stevenson each had two out-of-the-park home runs. Raven Sandoval added to that an in-the-park home run off of an error.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Milano Eagles baseball squad dropped both of its games last week, playing Iola twice, losing 4-2 and 11-3. Milano is winless in district games.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS

Rockdale Tigers tennis team played in the Thrall Invitational Tennis Tournament last week. The boys’ doubles team of Brody Willard and Mason Lillard placed second. Mixed doubles team of Emily Zientek and Jonathan Fuller finished in third.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL TRACK

Thorndale Lady Dogs Raven Sandoval, Skilee Bear and Nadia Gonzalez (at left) are advancing to area competition in the 3200 m run. Sandoval was district champion, Bear placed second and Gonzalez was third. Area competition will be April 10 in Flatonia.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TRACK

The Rockdale Tiger boys track team participated in the Lexington Eagle Relays last week with these individual student athletes showing off the blue and gold: Varsity • The 4x400 relay team of Montelongo, Stephens, Henderson and Gerren placed first.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TRACK

Congratulations to the Rockdale Tiger track team for placing second in the Happy Skrabanek Relays in Caldwell last week. De’Andre Stephens placed first in the 200m, long jump, triple jump and the high jump. The 4x400 team of Montelongo, Stephens, Henderson and Gerren finished first.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Thorndale Bulldogs baseball team dropped both games of a double header against Wimberley last week. The first game was 6-0 and the second game was 9-8 after extra innings.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Milano Eagles baseball team (R) went 2-0 last week after defeating Round Top Carmine. Milano defeated the Cubs at home 12-2 and then on the road 12-0. The Eagles are now 7-5-1 over all and 0-2 in district. THIS WEEK— Next up are back-toback games against Iola (9-3, 3-1).

The struggling Rockdale Lady Tigers softball team lost to Lexington at home Friday night, 10-0. COMING UP— Rockdale is currently 0-3 in district play and will not play again until Tuesday, April 1 at home against Little River- Academy. Game time is 6 p.m.
