ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS

Rockdale hosted an invitational tennis tournament at Veteran’s Park last week. The results were good under former Tiger and first year head tennis Coach Adrian Salcedo. BOYS— Alvan Liu placed first in singles action. In boys’ doubles, Pratham Patel and Jason Ponnaiya placed third.

ROCKDALE SOCCER

The Lady Tiger soccer team is poised to potentially make the postseason with only five more games to go in the regular season. Rockdale is currently in fourth place. In recent action, they split games against Manor New Tech and Salado.

ROCKDALE BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

Last week’s cold weather did not help former Rockdale Tiger and current head baseball Coach Austin Caffey get his Big Blue Machine tuned up for the 2025 baseball season.

Area champs...and still going

The victory bus is still rolling and it has nothing but Thorndale Bulldogs on it. Thorndale beat Ganado recently in the bi-district round of postseason play, winning 86-44. The Bulldogs then took on West Hardin in the area playoff game and brought home another win, 41-33.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

The Milano Eagles had a great year on the hard court, advancing to the postseason. The Eagles were bi-dist r ict champions af ter defeating Shiner, 62-52. Milano then faced off against powerhouse Mumford in the area round of the playoffs last week and unfortunately came up short, 67-32.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL POWERLIFTING

REGIONAL POWERLIFTING— Congratulations to all of the Thorndale Lady Dog student athletes that competed in the recent regional powerlifting event at Dublin High School. Jordyn Stutts (center) earned the opportunity to move onto the state competition.

MILANO POWERLIFTING

Milano Lady Eagles powerlifters Kate Silvey and Kira Cooper placed third and fourth, respectively, at the regional meet last week.

ROCKDALE BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Blue & Gold baseball team faced off against Mumford last week and came away looking very good with 21-4 victory. Former Tiger and current head baseball Coach Austin Caffey said, “While the score looks good against Mumford it does not tell the whole story. Mumford substituted a lot of JV players.

The Rockdale Tigers soccer squad went 2-0 last week against opponents Cameron and Caldwell. Both games were played at home. CAMERON— In the game against Cameron, the final score was 1-0. Tiger Wilmer Sor to scored with an assist by Fernando Pacheco.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL

Congratulations to the Thorndale Bulldogs basketball team who are district champs. They defeated the Milano Eagles, 47-23, in their last game of the regular season last Tuesday.
