MILANO HIGH SCHOOL POWERLIFTING

Milano competed in the Regional Powerlifting Meet in Navasota last week. As a team, the Eagles placed second and three athletes will move onto the state competition in Abilene on March 22.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Big Blue Machine had a great weekend playing in the Brazos Christian High School baseball tournament in Bryan. The Tigers went 3-1, their only loss was against the host Brazos Christian 5-4. Rockdale beat Snook, 18-1; Abbott, 5-0; and Westbury Christian, 6-4.

THORNDALE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Thorndale Bulldogs are 3-1 so far this year on the baseball diamond. They recently won against neighboring Rockdale, 2-1; Mumford, 7-0; Texas Wind out of Waco, 2-1; and their one loss came against the Alpha Omega Academy out of Huntsville, 7-4.

THORNDALE TENNIS

The Thorndale varsity tennis squad traveled to Rockdale’s Veterans Park to play in an invitational tournament last week. Hestin Ellington placed first in girls’ singles and Isaac Biar was second in boys’ singles.

ROCKDALE POWERLIFTING

STATE BOUND— Rockdale Lady Tiger powerlifter Shelly Segovia (L) was regional champion in the 220 weight class. She now qualifies for the state meet. Lady Tiger Ariel Martinez Hernandez (R) was fifth at regionals in the 105 weight class.

MILANO HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

The Milano Lady Eagles softball team is scheduled to play in the Franklin Tournament on Thursday. At 6 p.m. Friday, they will host Somerville. Eagles The Milano Eagles baseball team is rescheduled to play in the Leon Tournament Thursday through Saturday this week.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL TRACK

The Rockdale Tiger track team competed in the Robinson Relays last week and varsity Tiger Dre Stephens placed second in the high jump. The junior-varsity 4x100 relay team— Rachaid Wilson, Jayden Davenport, Noah Harper and Amaury O’Bryant—came in first place.

ROCKDALE GOLF

Rockdale Tiger golfers are getting it done this spring. The boys golf team placed second in Cameron last week with a total score of 341 and Tiger Mason Lillard placed third as an individual with a score of 76.

THORNDALE GOLF

The Thorndale Lady Dogs came in second overall in the Lexington Golf Tournament played last week in Caldwell. Individual scores were: Marisol Schaller 103, Karsyn Bland 111, Madison Espinoza 111, Rhynn Bigan 120, Hestin Ellington 121 and Kenzie Hoskins 126.

ROCKDALE HIGH SCHOOL SOCCER

The Rockdale Tigers are on a losing streak having dropped their last four games. Last week they lost in penalty kicks to Taylor, 2-2, and Giddings, 3-0. The Tigers have three more games left in the regular season.
