VFDs, Child Welfare get money in seizure

CAMERON—The largest cash seizure in Milam County history has resulted in donations to 10 volunteer fire departments and the Milam County Child Welfare Board. A total of $831,000 in cash was seized March 26 in a traffic stop.

Thorndale BBQ Cookoff scheduled June 22-23

THORNDALE—The 28th annual Thorndale Barbecue Cookoff will unreel Friday and Saturday, June 22-23 with cooking, dances, a softball tourney, arts and crafts and more.
