Rockdale PD makes five felony arrests, responds to three traffic accidents

Rockdale Police Officers made five felony arrests during the past week including: • Case Christian Scott, 26, Austin, was arrested by Ofc. Lentz for possession of a controlled substance (4 to 400 grams) and for unlawful carrying of a weapon. • Kelan Scott Locklin, 31, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc.

FIRE CALLS

Responded to: • The Sharp community for multiple grass fires and two structure fires on Sept. 11 at 2:30 p.m. Rockdale, Milano, Cameron, Buckholts and Davilla VFDs also responded for mutual aid. • 13445 North FM 487 for a structure fire that rekindled on Sept. 11 at 8:02 p.m.

First Baptist Church to celebrate 150 years The Sesquicentennial isn’t over yet. On Sunday, Sept. 22, First Baptist Church will celebrate 150 years of faithful Christian service and ministry with a 10:30 a.m. service and a 3 p.m. service. Former pastors, staff and members will be in attendance.

Years ago, God put a handful of men in my path. Two were adult children of people I knew, the other was a former lawyer from Hawaii. Each of these men was chronically unemployed or underemployed and at the time I wondered if any of them would ever overcome the challenges life had given them.

Rockdale ISD seeking volunteers for Campus Education Councils

Rockdale Independent School District is seeking parent, business and community representatives for openings on the Campus Education Councils. The purpose of the educational councils is to provide advice to the principals and superintendent but have no regulatory powers.
