Under the direction of Bill Torrey, the Milam County District Attorney, the following felony cases were recently resolved in Judge John W. Youngblood’s 20th Judicial District Court:

TIMOTHY RAY BLAKELY, 38, of Gause, was sentenced to ten (10) years confinement in TDCJ after pleading guilty to a 3rd Degree Felony, Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon   SCOTTY BURNS AKA SCOTT PAUL BURNS, 28, of Cameron, was sentenced to five (5) years confinement in TDCJ after pleading guilty...

The Rockdale Fair Association did it again, providing a good time, good music, good food and lots of fun for attendees. But most importantly, area children got to show off the animals they have worked so hard to raise and make some money.

The Rockdale Tigers brought the Milam County prize back home on Friday night with a 41-21 win over the Cameron Yoemen at the annual Battle of the Bell. See photos and all the details of the game in sports

QUICK LOOK

The City of Rockdale will host a tire recycling opportunity for Milam County citizens from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, at Fair park, 200 Walnut St. Tires only are accepted and only from individuals. No business tires. Both passenger car and tractor tires will be accepted.

ORGANIZATIONS

Rockdale Rotary Club meets the first, third and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Rockdale Volunteer Fire Department from noon to 1 p.m. Lunch is provided. Rockdale Noon Lion’s Club also meets at RVFD on the first and third Wednesday of each month with lunch provided.

Wayne and I joined family Saturday in Rockdale for a celebration of life for Edward Dworaczyk. Edward was Sandra’s husband, Larry’s and Garry’s dad. He will be missed. I hope by the time you read this that the sun is shining. It is a dreary beginning for Monday.
