It’s almost Fair time! The 48th annual Rockdale Fair & Rodeo will be held Oct. 14-21, featuring professional rodeo and top country music acts to dance the nights away at Rockdale Fair Park. Tickets are $30 for a threeday adult pass, $20 for children and seniors.

Recently, the Rockdale City Council approved the city’s second Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone, or TIRZ. What is this, other than being a funny-sounding name? Some folks see them as scary public finance monsters, but generally, they are helpful community development tools.
