Seals named MVFD’s Miss Flame

We have a new Miss Flame! L a kot a Seals, senior, will represent the Milano VFD for the 23/24 school year. Congratulations! GR A DUAT ION— Another school year has ended with the graduation of 31 seniors. We wish our newest graduates all the best as they venture out into the world.

ORGANIZATIONS

The Rockdale Homecoming Association annual citywide homecoming will be Sunday, June 11, at the Patterson Civic Center. Rockdale High School Class of 1973 will be the honored class of 50 years. The Honored Business for 2023 is McVoy Grocery & Feed Store.

SHOOTING STANDOFF HAS ENDED

A shooting took place last night in a house on Murray Avenue between Bowser and Wilcox. Multiple people have been shot according to the reports we have gotten, which are not official. At least two of the shooting victims have been taken to the hospital.

School board recognizes students at May meeting

At the last RISD School Board meeting, students in RJH band, RHS band, RJH tennis, RJH track, RHS golf, RHS tennis, RHS track, Skills USA state qualifiers and FFA state and area qualifiers were recognized.

Farmers market ‘going to the dogs’

The farmers market at Wolf Park is going to the dogs. A special event planned for Saturday, June 3, will change Wolf Park to Woof Park with a dog-themed day. Bring your furry friends along and have a good time. First there will be a dog parade a nd mi xer.
