City Council takes dive into water audit

The newest member of the Milam County Sheriff’s Office is Deputy Kenny Gaston who was sworn in Tuesday by Milam County Clerk Jodi Morgan. ‘Deputy Gaston retired from Bryan Police Department and brings with him a wealth of knowledge,’ said Sheriff Mike Clore.

GRAND CHAMPION

The Grand Champion at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo’s Junior Market Steer Auction was Stiles Patin, 17, with Thorndale 4-H. The steer, named ‘King,’ a solid white Charloais cross, sold for $550,000 to J. Alan Kent Development of Houston.

BIG BLUE BAND MEMBERS RECOGNITION

Members of the RHS Big Blue Band were recognized by the RISD board at their meeting Monday evening for their accomplishments at ATSSB All-Region 18/26 High School Band and the UIL Region 26/18 Band Solo and Ensemble Contest.

What’s happening this spring in first grade?

It is hard to believe that our first graders have almost completed their time at Rockdale Elementary School. The year began with reviewing school rules, creating classroom social contracts and learning to become responsible for our own behavior.
