Rockdale PD makes six felony arrests in seven-day period

Rockdale Police Officers made six felony arrests during the past seven days including: • Jesus Llanas Sanchez, 26, Rockdale was arrested on Wednesday by Sgt. Parker for a warrant for a motion to proceed felony violation for sexual offense against child/fondling.   • Ignacio Melchor Jr.

Medicare costs in 2023

Dear Savvy Senior, I’ve read that retirees will be getting a nice cost- of- living increase in our Social Security benefits next year but what about Medicare? What will our Medicare Part B monthly premiums and other Medicare costs be in 2023?

Gause Baptist Church had a Halloween fundraiser for the youth of the church. We are very blessed to have these young people in our community. They are a great help to the church and are future leaders! All of them will volunteer when needed to do what they can. Thanks to those who bought items!

Good news: we got rain; praying for more

The best news ever, We got rain! Keep praying we get more. CEFCO— If you have driven by the new CEFCO you have seen amazing progress. Many have complained to me about having to drive to Rockdale or Hearne for gas. I remember before we had the CEFCO and the stoplights. We get spoiled so quickly.

Thanksgiving sides and a ‘salad’

From now until the end of the month we’re talking about Thanksgiving. Everyone knows how to cook a turkey and everyone’s dressing is a special one that you aren’t going to change, so we’ll be sticking to sides. In our family there are some must haves, but the sides can be anything.

Could switching the clocks soon come to an end?

On Sunday, people across North America will adjust their clocks, turning them back one hour and thus returning Daylight Saving Time back to Standard Time. When spring arrives anew, the clocks once again will move forward an hour. This phenomenon has taken place for more than 50 years.
