FIRST FRIDAY COFFEE— After a long hiatus due to the pandemic, the Lucky Hill Patterson Memorial Library restarted its First Friday Coffee last Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. The event was well attended and there were lots of goodies to eat and plenty of fresh coffee.

Cameron hosting Milam County’s July 4th celebration this weekend

The Milam County 4th of July Celebration will kick off on the square in downtown Cameron to celebrate Independence Day. Fireworks are currently banned in Milam County, however, the organizers are hoping for enough rain that the ban might be rescinded for a licensed provider fireworks show.

First Friday Coffee comes back Friday

The popular First Friday Coffee at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library is making a comeback on Friday, July 1. The coffee get-togethers have been on hold since March of 2020 due to the pandemic. The Library Board will be the sponsor of this Friday’s coffee which starts at 9 a.m.

All fireworks not banned

There are only two kinds of fireworks that have been banned in Milam County due to dry weather conditions. The two kinds are rockets on a stick and missiles with fins. All other types of fireworks are legal for use this Independence Day.
