Three felony arrests made over past week

Rockdale Police officers made three felony arrests during the past seven days including: • Monika Diamante Ramon, 23, Rockdale, was arrested by Ofc. Lentz for to counts abandoning/endangering a child with intent to return. • Braylon Knoxson, 43, Caldwell, was arrested by Sgt.

MILAM COUNTY JAIL LOG

Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the county jail in Cameron. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law. • Coleman Lloyd Federle, 38, Belton, evading arrest detention with vehicle, in custody.

FIRE CALLS

Rockdale VFD Responded to: • 5313 North FM 908 for a motorcycle vs. deer accident on Nov. 5 at 11:10 p.m. • 705 Dyer for something burning on Nov. 6 at 8:14 p.m. • 352 North US 77 for a fire alarm but none was located on Nov. 6 at 8:21 p.m.

Milam County 4-H members showcased their agricultural knowledge and skills at the District 8 4-H Agricultural Product Identification Contest held on Nov. 6.
FUN TIMES— St. John’s United Methodist Church held their annual fundraiser, Lord’s Acre, on Sunday after church with a meal cooked by the Methodist Men. There was both a live and a silent auction. Auctioneer John Fisher has volunteered his services every year since the fundraiser started in 1997. This year the church raised $22,000 auctioning paintings, Christmas décor, trips, baked goods, dinners, jewelry and more.

Shawn Leifeste of Cameron 4-H Club exhibited the grand champion steer at this year’s 50th annual Fair. It was purchased by Kyle Office Products, Milam County Livestock Auction, Orion DC LLC c/o SB Energy and Open AI Inc. for $20,874, plus $1,275 added money, for a total of $22,149.

Fair sales bring in record-breaking $1.03M

The 50th annual Rockdale Fair & Rodeo’s combined sales—to benef it Milam County 4-H and FFA youth—was a record-breaking $1,029,704.85, including a $637,844.85 livestock action. The commercial heifer sale brought $341,290, the baked good sales raised $26,615 and ag mechanics made $23,955.
