Farmers’ Market is now every Saturday morning

The Rockdale Chamber of Commerce is holding a farmers’ market on the grounds of the of the historic Coffield Stone Tree House at 1203 W Cameron. The market is held each Saturday from now until the end of October. The hours are 8 a.m. to noon.

VFW Auxiliary seeking school supplies for kids

As one school year ends, the beginning of a new one is just a summer away. So preparation for the coming school year is already underway in some corners of the area. The VFW Auxiliary Post 6525 in Rockdale is now accepting donations for its 2021 School Supplies Drive.

RISD names Pelzel intervention director

Rockdale ISD trustees named Kathy Pelzel as Director of Elementary Intervention at the June 10 board meeting. Pelzel earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and math from Sam Houston State University and a master’s degree in administration from Lamar University.

Riders take off from The Ranch for the annual MARC Ride fundraiser Saturday. MARC Ride coordinators Charles Starr and Neal Ferrell have led this support event for the Milam Adult Resource Center since its inception 20 years ago. 

Milam County 4-H standout is heading for Texas A&M

The Milam County extension office is highlighting the county 4-H seniors who graduating in 2021. We are proud of these youth as they have worked very hard, for most of them, over 10 years in 4-H.
