Foundation offering $1,500 scholarship for ag students

The Growmark Foundation is offering a $1,500 scholarship program for students in the United States and Ontario, Canada, pursing two- or four-year degrees or trade school certification in an agriculture-related fi e l d .

Waiver on licenses, ID cards ends in April

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety is reminding the public the waiver on expiration dates for driver licenses and identification cards ends April 14. Customers who need to renew are urged to make an appointment or renew online.

Rockdale alumni make President’s List

Two students from Rockdale at Howard Payne University made the President’s List for the fall semester. Students must earn a 4.0 GPA to be named to the President’s List. They are Erin Blanchard and Brian Blanchard.

Deputy brings in man wanted in Louisiana

Milam County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man wanted in Louisiana on a long list of felony charges after midnight Monday. Milam County Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Perez stopped the suspect for a traffic violation at FM 2095 and US 77.

Jail log lists all people charged with offenses through the country jail in Cameron. Charges may change during the process. Persons are presumed innocent until convicted in a court of law.

GRAND JURY REPORT

The following 51 cases were presented to the grand jury and indicted as True Bills with no “no bills” on Jan. 21: • Jesse Ray Gonzales, 17, Temple, third-degree felony, evading arrest with motor vehicle. • Dalton Keith Hammond, 25, Lexington, state jail felony, unauthorized use of motor vehicle.

POLICE REPORT

Officers made four felony arrests and worked two accidents during the past week. A 21-year-old Rockdale woman was arrested Monday by Officer Michael Hubnik on a Milam County warrant for probation violation on a forgery of financial instrument.

Senior Serve to be held Saturday at Cowboy Church
