County approves move into former hospital

CAMERON—After a year and a half of discussion, Milam County commissioners on Monday approved a move of several county departments from downtown Cameron into Cameron’s former hospital.

Milano Fourth of July parade, meal canceled MILANO—There will be no celebration of the “stars and stripes” on the Fourth of July in Milano. The Milano City Council has canceled the parade and community meal for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic at their meeting on Monday night.

‘First’ arrest made in stolen vehicles, RYBA incident

Rockdale police arrested a 15-year-old male Friday in what they believe will be the first of several arrests in a number of local crimes. The juvenile was charged with two counts of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and one count of burglary of a vehicle.

Leave it to Internet scammers to give dishonesty a bad name. The U. S. Dept. of Justice has had to issue a directive warning against scammers who are selling “Face Mask Exempt Cards” for $49.95 (500 cards).
