This week the Commissioners Court took a big step forward by approving an interim lease for the former Little River Hospital complex, with an option to buy the complex by the end of the year.

Rockdale Public Schools opened the 1919-1920 school year with 50 students in attendance. Officials said the first da ent smoothl ith one big exception. Expected textbooks from the state had not yet arrived for the school term.

Whe ee Count office of Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer two Food Protection Management trainings; Sept. 16-17 and Nov. 4-5. Each training will be held in the Lee County Extension office, located at 310 South Grimes in Giddings. Class will begin at 9 a.m.
