MISD golf tourney set for Saturday at RCC

MILANO NEWS The annual Milano ISD scholarship golf tournament is set for Saturday, June 22. The event has been rescheduled twice due to weather conditions. The event will now be held Saturday, June 22. The event will still take place at the Rock-dale Country Club.

Putting the Veterans in Veterans Park

It’s time to put the “veterans” in Veterans Park. That’s the message City Manager Chris Whittaker brought to a small, but appreciative, group last Tuesday at the VFW Hall as preliminary plans for a plaza which would be a tribute to the town’s current and past military men and women.

Rockdale High wins high ranking award

Rockdale High School has received a major award, ranking high enough to be listed as a “Best High School” in the 2019 national rankings of U.S. News & World Report. RHS will now be able to display the U.S. News Best High Schools award badge. The announcement was made Monday by RISD Supt. Dr.

Water bid hints at Alcoa tenant Council seeks more info on proposals

City council members sent a couple of firms “back to the drawing board” Monday evening as they mull the possibility of replacing part of Rockdale’s water system with outside water. But the intriguing, and hopeful, part of that situation is one of the bids.

Numbers game: Town Hall Thursday

How do you want to play the numbers game? That’s what the City of Rockdale wants to find out from its citizens in a 6 p.m. Thursday town hall at the Lucy Hill Patterson Memorial Library. For several months the city has been mulling an ordinance requiring all addresses to have street address numbers.
