Milam Crops tour set for June 21

THE AG SIDE CAMERON—The annual Milam County Row Crops tour is set for June 21 beginning at the Texas AgriLife Extension Office in Cameron.

$9,500 in scholarships given by Rockdale Fair

The Rockdale Fair Association bestowed $9,500 in scholarships this spring to graduating Milam County seniors. Scholarships were listed as follows by Sheree Smith of the RFA: • Gracen Dach, $2,000, Cameron Yoe High School, daughter of Micheal and Kimberly Dach.

THE CLASS OF 49—Harry Truman was president and Babe Ruth died during their senior year. These six members of the Rockdale High School Class of 1949 gathered to observe their 70th reunion during the annual Rockdale Homecoming Sunday at the Patterson Civic Center.

Alcoa retirees slate meeting Thursday THORNDALE—The next meeting of Rockdale Alcoa Retirees will be Thursday, June 13 at the Thorndale VFW Hall, according to Doug Williams, organization president. He said doors will open at 5 p.m. with a short business meeting starting around 5:45.

Aycock Class of 1959 will attend Juneteenth In lieu of their annual reunion, the Aycock High School graduating class of 1959 will attend Rock-dale’s Juneteenth observance Saturday and ride in the parade.

Lagrone reunion set for Saturday, Sunday

MILANO NEWS The 80th annual Lagrone Family Reunion will be held this Saturday and Sunday at the Noriene Lagrone farm off CR 345. Our family always enjoys this great time to fellowship each Father’s Day weekend and this milestone anniversary will be a big one.

Music concert at Rising Star Baptist next week Rising Star Baptist Church concert featuring Prairie View A&M Mimes, Rising Star choir, New Jerusalem Dance Ministry and New Hope Women of Worship is set for June 22. Admission is $5 per person. The Songs for the Savior event starts at 7 p.m.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL CAMPS

Vacation Bible schools offer a variety of activities with a Christian message for students of all ages. These are the programs in the area: June 17-21 – New Jerusalem Interdenominational Church will host “The Incredible Race” VBS camp from 5-7 p.m. at 103 Mulberry.
