Trustees eye 4-cent drop in RISD school tax rate

The new school finance law, passed this year by the Texas Legislature and signed into law by the governor, may enable the Rockdale ISD to drop the current tax rate by more than four cents.

County still talking Rockdale junkyard

CAMERON—The “Junkyard Saga” continued Monday as Milam County Commissioners continued to grapple with strategy on dealing with a declared junkyard in the 1300 block of East Cameron Avenue (US 79) in Rockdale.

CORRECTION

There was a mistake in last week’s print edition of The Reporter. The $400,000 needed in order for CHI-St. Joseph’s to bring a new clinic to Rockdale ($200,000 locally) is an annual requirement, not a monthly one. The error was caught and corrected in the on-line edition.
