Lent fish fries start Friday at KC Hall The annual Lenten Fish Fries by Knights of Columbus Council 7014 begin Friday at the KC Hall and continue every Friday of Lent. Hours are 5 to 7:30 p.m., or until sold out, and plates are priced at $10 each. The final fish fry is April 12.

The program was about as timely as it gets. With Rockdale residents, and businesses, faced with substantial increases in their water rates, starting with the April billing and continuing for years, water conservation is a popular topic.

Milam records second fatality

A 77-year-old Caldwell man died last Wednesday in the second Milam County highway fatality in less than a week, both on the same stretch of Texas 36. According to the Department of Public Safety, Louis Smith was killed when his pickup was in collision with an 18-wheeler about 4:30 p.m. Feb.

Movie presents life of Rockdale native

A feature movie by the same production team responsible for the surprise hit God Is Not Dead is based on the life of a Rock-dale native. Unplanned will tell the story of Abby Brannam Johnson, who has become one of the leaders of the Pro-Life movement.

Theft of mulch leads to arrests

POLICE REPORT A report of theft of mulch, and quick response by police, led to the arrest of a Cameron-area couple Sunday. Lt. Stephen Goodrich said police received a call from Tractor Supply reporting someone taking mulch from a store pallet. He said a vehicle description was obtained and Ofc.
