Reporter, firms set turkey giveaway

The annual Christmas Turkey Giveaway, sponsored by 23 local business firms through the Rockdale Camber of Commerce, has begun. The Rockdale Reporter is one of those firms and this year’s turkey giveaways by the newspaper will go to persons familiar with the paper’s history.

‘Sleeper’ report ends in arrest

POLICE REPORT A call reporting a person sleeping in a vehicle Friday ended with two charges being filed against a Rock-dale man. Lt. Stephen Goodrich said Ofc. Johnathan Richardson responded to the site and found two persons asleep in the vehicle.

Brown Santa applications sought

SHERIFF’S REPORT The Milam County Sheriff’s Office is taking application for Milam County residences that would like to take advantage of the Brown Santa program to provide toys for needy children.
