Rockdale removes parking requirement from deal with Perrys over old City Hall

The Rockdale City Council opted to remove the restriction of making a parking out of the lot behind the old City Hall in a vote at a meeting Monday night in City Hall. That vote means the Perrys, who have purchased the building and the lot behind it, do not have to put a parking lot on the land behind old City Hall.

The big brass Victory Bell, symbol of Milam County football superiority is now on display of the rotunda of Rockdale High School after the Tigers’ 42-9 win over Cameron two Fridays ago. It has also acquired a new-blue-and-gold paint job. Since 1954, winner of the Rockdale-Cameron regular season game has won possession of a victory bell for the year.
