Ofc. Wachtel responded to a two-vehicle accident near the intersection on Mill and Wilcox Streets on April 12 at 3:05 p.m. Calls for Service Rockdale Police Officers responded to 259 total calls for service during the past week including 77 calls for 911 emergency service.

Responded to: • 319 Houston for a gas leak on April 8 at 12:27 p.m. • 1206 CR 318 for a motorcycle accident with injuries on April 8 at 1:21 p.m. • CR 338 and US 79 along with Milano VFD to assist with traffic control on April 10 at 1:08 p.m.

CAMERON—It was another good year for the Milam County Livestock Show in Cameron this year. The annual auction benefiting Milam FFA and 4-H youth, brought in an impressive total of $681,476.82.

The Rockdale Fair Association will hold their annual barbecue cookoff April 11 and 12 during Jubilee Days at Fair Park. Jubilee Days includes food, dancing, a carnival, a rodeo and $5,000 in prize money. Cookoff entry is $200 and includes three meat categories, a camp spot and four weekend passes.

Child Abuse Prevention Month kicks off Friday

CASA of Milam County and the Milam County Child Protective Services board will hold a pancake breakfast on Friday, April 11 at 8 a.m. to kick off National Child Abuse Prevention Month. At 9 a.m. Milam County Judge Bill Whitmire will sign a proclamation on the courthouse lawn.

A community Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Friday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fair Park for toddlers to 5th graders. The first hunt begins at 10 a.m. The event wi l l feature pictures with the Easter Bunny, face painting, bounce houses, food, game/activity booths and lots of family fun.
